Chicagoland JOAD at the 2002 JOAD Outdoor National Championship

This was one for the books, WOW! 300 kids entered and competed for National titles in their division. The Cincinnati Club put on what NAA President Mark Miller described as "the best JOAD National ever" and I agree. What a fine bunch of talented people. Thanks to all who worked to make this a Nationals to be remembered.

The weather was perfect all weekend, no rain and only moderate winds. Everything a person could want was easy to find either on site or near by. It was good to see Lancaster Archery on site. Chicagoland JOAD was well represented, pictures and a list of how area and club members finished will be posted soon.

A highlight of the event was when Darrel Pace showed his Olympic medals. I was busy and could not get over to see and get photos of the medals but someone who did promised to send me copies so keep coming back lots more stuff to post. Also Darrel did the awards presentation for the recurve bunch! I have some pictures of that. I wonder if all the kids appreciate getting their picture taken receiving an award from "THE MAN", what a class act he is. Parents ask your kids if they know who he is, if they don't do a little research and teach them, our history is important.
