JOAD NATIONALS RESULTS

Eight Chicagoland JOAD members recently competed at the JOAD National Outdoor Championships in Conyers, Georgia this July. Royce Pouleson came in 2nd and Whay Cheng finished 3^rd.

The Jr. US Open was also held during JOAD Nationals. After the two day FITA ranking round, competitors in each division competed in head-to-head elimination round matches. Jonathan Miller took the bronze in the Junior Male Recurve division.

NAA NATIONALS RESULTS

The NAA Target Championships were held in Reading, Pennsylvania and consisted of a double FITA round that was shot over 4 days of competition. The U.S. Open was held on the fifth day and included a number of international shooters. The second day of the FITA round was plagued with torrential rains, a delay of shooting due to lightning and an early end to the afternoon line due to flood conditions on the field. The shooting fields were flooded with up to a foot of water by the end of the day. Before the round was called early with 5 ends yet to shoot, many of the shooters had to shoot in standing water and wade to the targets. Miller coming in 3rd.

In addition, the Jr. and Sr. USAT team members were announced at the conclusion of the NAA Nationals. Jonathan Miller was named to the 2005 Jr. USAT team and former CLJ member Stephanie Miller, who won the silver medal in the Sr. Female Recurve division, was named to the 2005 Sr. USAT team.
