For 10 years, Ron McCormick volunteered to be the webmaster of our old website at

Ron was also our Level 4 Head Coach back when Chicagoland JOAD was first organized.  His coaching expertise produced several elite shooters in our club who made their mark at national, international and Olympic trials competitions.

Thank you, Ron, for your many years of service and dedication to Chicagoland JOAD!

For 17 years, since the inception of Chicagoland JOAD in August of 2001, TC Cheng has volunteered as a Level III Coach, State Judge and Director of Shooting for our club and for all the tournaments which we hosted over the years.

Thank you, TC, for your contribution to the success of Chicagoland JOAD!

It is with great sadness that I share this tribute to Doug Harwick who passed away on April 19, 2019 at the age of 65. He was my good friend and fellow JOAD coach with Chicagoland JOAD for the past 17 years.

I am also attaching a post from the family with memorial service details.

November 10, 2019

I'm happy to report that I survived the week long coaches' training at the US Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA to qualify as a Level 4 NTS Archery Coach!  It was the most intense and challenging week of my life!  I have a new-found respect for coaches of elite athletes, knowing that they not only have to be experts in their sport, but also need to understand biomechanics, physiology, psychology, sports medicine and teaching skills. The best part of this journey was making new archery friends who shared this experience with me!  We will always have this bond!

Thank you to all the Coaches: KiSik Lee, Guy Krueger, Linda Beck and Eric Tollefson!
